Shingle Springs, Calif. (September 12, 2024) — On Thursday evening the El Dorado County Fire Protection District was pleased to host a promotional badge pinning ceremony for three members at the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians Administration Building. This was the first group of promotions that used a joint eligibility list of both El Dorado County Fire Protection District and Diamond Springs - El Dorado Fire Protection District members.
The ceremony was led by Fire Chief Tim Cordero and was opened by the District's Honor Guard. Remarks were presented by El Dorado County Fire Protection District Division 4 Director Jim Edmiston and Diamond Springs - El Dorado Fire Protection District Director Matt Anderson. Director/Assistant Chief John Tayaba of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians Tribal Fire Department, accompanied by his son, performed a ceremonial blessing on those promoted along with children present in the audience.
Those promoted were: Eric Banuelos to the rank of Engineer, Ben Anderson to the rank of Captain and Zach Iddings to the rank of Captain. The District is extremely proud of the hard work and commitment to the organization that each of these members have demonstrated. Congratulations to all of you!
