Fire Districts Promote Chief Officers with Badge Pinning Ceremony
Shingle Springs Rancheria (Sept. 13, 2023) — Diamond Springs - El Dorado Fire Protection District and El Dorado County Fire Protection District promoted two chief officers during a badge pinning ceremony Wednesday. The ceremony took place at the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians Administration Building in Shingle Springs. Fire Chief Matt Gallagher pinned newly promoted Battalion Chief Jack Daniels for the Diamond Springs - El Dorado Fire Protection District. Fire Chief Tim Cordero pinned newly promoted Division Chief Steve Adams for El Dorado County Fire Protection District. Members of El Dorado County Fire Protection District's Honor Guard placed the American Flag. El Dorado County Fire Protection District Board of Director and Fire Chaplain Lloyd Ogan shared an invocation. Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians Tribal Fire Department Assistant Chief John Tayaba performed a ceremonial blessing for both of the new chiefs.
Battalion Chief Daniels and Division Chief Adams are now part of a dual-battalion model in which both fire districts are cooperating to assure that two chiefs are on duty each day to primarily respond to emergencies within the county.
